Our faux stone column wraps and faux brick column wraps are made from high density polyurethane. The Tumbled Stone and Ashford Ledgestone and columns are made out of a very durable, medium density polyethylene.
A faux column wrap is composed of 2 or more interlocking pieces and can be wrapped around a post or structural beam. A column sleeve is 1 piece and slides over a post.
Absolutely. Both our wood beams and faux wood beams are a box beam construction, meaning that they are constructed from mitered planks and hollow on the inside. When you order a beam, you will be selecting the outer dimensions. To order the correct size, take the dimensions of the structure you’re looking to cover and add 1 ¼ inches to each side. If you’re looking to cover 3 sides, add 2 ½ inches to the width and 1 ¼ inches to the height. To cover 4 sides of a structure, add 2 ½ inches to both the width and the height. For example, you want to cover something that is 4” x 4” on all 4 sides. You will need to order a beam with outer dimensions of 6 ½” x 6 ½” to account for material thickness of approximately 1” + a tolerance on all 4 sides.
If you’re wondering how to install faux wood beams, our 4 sided beams ship to you with 3 sides fully assembled and allow you to add the 4th side to complete the project. The 4th side will be pre-mitered and fitted to your specific beam, making installation a snap.
Column caps are sold separately to allow for the maximum creativity and flexibility with your installation. Many column installations don’t require a cap, so we don’t want you to pay for something you can’t use.
